
Welcome to the Criminal Justice Department!
Kirtland Community College offers a full range of criminal justice programs, from the
very basics to continuing education for the seasoned officer. The Criminal Justice
Department also oversees campus safety and security through the Kirtland Department of
Public Safety.
Stand-Alone Programs:
- Kirtland Regional Police
Academy - a 17-week program designed to meet minimum basictraining requirements set by
the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and to prepare students for the state
certification examination
- Core Corrections Program - a set of five courses established to meet minimum
requirements for taking the Michigan Civil Service examination for corrections officer
- Waiver of Training - law
enforcement recertification training and testing
- Pre-Employment Testing - authorized site for the state's battery of written and physical
agility tests
